SMILE Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “SMILE”) is committed to contributing to society through the development of web and mobile applications, as well as the provision of customized solutions.

Article 1 (Personal Information)

“Personal Information” refers to “personal information” as defined by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, and means information relating to a living individual that can identify a specific person through details such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, or other descriptions contained in such information. It also includes data related to facial appearance, fingerprints, voiceprints, and information that can identify a specific individual by itself, such as the insurer number on a health insurance card (personal identification information).

Article 2 (Methods of Collecting Personal Information)

Our company may collect personal information such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, and driver’s license number when users register for our services.

In addition, we may collect records of transactions and payment-related information containing users’ personal information from our business partners (including information providers, advertisers, and advertising distributors; hereinafter referred to as “business partners”) and other related parties.

Article 3 (Purpose of Collecting and Using Personal Information)

The purposes for which our company collects and uses personal information are as follows:

Article 6 (Disclosure of Personal Information)

  1. If a person requests disclosure of personal data held by SMILE, we will respond to the request after confirming that the requester is the individual concerned. However, if we are unable to comply with the request for disclosure in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, or if the relevant retained personal data does not exist, we will notify the requester accordingly. Please contact us through the designated inquiry channel. In some cases, an amount equivalent to actual expenses such as communication and postage fees (up to a maximum of 2,000 yen) may be charged as a handling fee for disclosure procedures.

Article 7 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)

  2. If we receive a request from a user as described in the preceding paragraph and determine that it is necessary to comply with the request, we shall promptly correct, add to, or delete the relevant personal information.
  3. If we make corrections, additions, or deletions pursuant to the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or if we decide not to make such corrections, additions, or deletions, we shall notify the user without delay.

Article 8 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information, etc.)

  1. If an individual requests the suspension of use or deletion of personal information (hereinafter referred to as “Suspension of Use, etc.”) on the grounds that the personal information is being handled beyond the scope of the purpose of use or was obtained by improper means, we shall promptly conduct the necessary investigation.
  2. Based on the results of the investigation described in the preceding paragraph, if we determine that it is necessary to comply with the request, we shall promptly suspend the use of or delete the relevant personal information.
  3. If we make corrections, additions, or deletions pursuant to the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or if we decide not to make such corrections, additions, or deletions, we shall notify the user without delay.
  4. Notwithstanding the preceding two paragraphs, if the suspension of use or deletion involves substantial costs or is otherwise difficult to carry out, and alternative measures necessary to protect the rights and interests of the user can be taken, we shall implement such alternative measures.

Article 9 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)

  1. The contents of this Policy may be changed without notifying users, except for matters otherwise stipulated by laws and regulations or by this Policy.
  2. Unless otherwise specified by our company, the revised Privacy Policy shall become effective from the time it is posted on this website.
